A Look Inside A Quiet TIme

Phillipians Poetry from je scott on Vimeo.

Philippians Spoken Word

That your love may abound still more and more
So here's to love, and it's flourishing finish
Here's to my love flourishing
Not only that I love much, but well.
Using my head
Testing my feelings
Not a love of sentimental gush, not just feeling
More than emotion
May it be a love sincere
A love intelligent.
Here is to life
To living a lovers life.
Bountiful in fruits from the soul.
Here is to celebration
I'm going to keep the celebration going
'Cause I know the end from the beginning
My story is already written
My journey already explored
The depths of my soul already discovered
Uncovered in there complexities
Treasures revealed
Joy that transcends all circumstances
Peace, a cultivated crop
Not that I have it all together
Nor that I have already attained this or it perfected itself in me
But pressing onward
Reaching out
Reaching up
Because He so wondrously reached out for me
Laying hold of Christ
Because He has so lovingly laid hold of me
Forgetting the things that are behind
Chasing after those things that are ahead
Here's to love in full bloom
Abundance budding from the doom and gloom
To all things bright and beautiful
This I pray, love may abound still more and more
So here's to love and it's flourishing finish through this open door.

Bringing Freedom In Modern Day Slavery

Pretend for a minute...

...pretend you're a mother or father who can't provide for your family.

You see the houses around you that are being built and added on to because those parents made the choice they did. You see the clothes they wear get a little nicer. You see more food on their table than on your own...

So you make a choice.

You take an offer on the table.

Do you choose to look the man in the eyes as he hands you the money?

Do you watch as he carries off your oldest daughter for the weekend?

How do you feel?

Can you look at the picture of her hanging on the wall in your bedroom and not see the innocence and purity that is about to be stripped away?

As she walks off in the distance and gets in the car, the understanding that you may never see her again doesn't hit you. It's only for the weekend, right? Two days and she'll be back home in your arms...

From jefftyner.theworldrace.org

...but it'll be different.

The innocence. The joy. Those things won't be there anymore.

Where there was light radiating from within, it'll be covered by darkness.

One weekend will turn into two..and three...and then more than you can keep count of.

Each night, ten or more men will have their way with her. For the weekend she'll have to endure over thirty men treating her with zero respect. Each one leaving her with a stained kiss on the cheek and a quick, “Thanks”...

A new week starts and a man brings you the money your daughter made. $36. You take it saying this will be the last time. Greed and selfishness takes over. The same man from before notices that you have another daughter.

He offers double for her.

She's only eight you say.

From jefftyner.theworldrace.org

Money isn't an issue, so he triples it.

Despite hesitation, you take it.

As you stare at the money in your hands and he carries your middle daughter off in the distance, you look back and see her stuffed animal laying on the wood floor.

It hits you.

Just like the daughter before, you'll never see her again...

You'll see only the remains of the child who she was.

She'll be forced to grow up faster than others her age. The images and experiences she has will be replayed in her mind for a lifetime.

A year later the man comes back.

He says your oldest daughter has died of disease and that you'll have to pay the rest of the money she was due to bring in.

You've spent everything.

The bill has to be paid.

Your mind races searching for an answer. Nothing comes to mind.

As he gets ready to speak again a baby cries from inside the house.

From jefftyner.theworldrace.org

Moments later, the house is empty.

The man who was in the doorway is driving off in the sun.

Your bill is paid.

And in your hand is $26.

This story above was written by my teammate, brother, and friend Kent Cranford. This month could not be explained any better than how Kent put it. I myself kept trying to start a blog, and would stare at the blank page trying to figure out where to start.. Where to begin..It's incredible what we are a part of here, the mission, the movement. While the story above is pretend for you and I, it is the reality for numerous parents in Thailand and other surrounding nations. Partner with our hearts in praying for the end of human trafficking, and freedom for the many children that are bound.

Woman Comes Back To Life After Cardiac Arrest

So last week my team and the three other teams that were staying with Tony at Zion's Gate ministries had the opportunity to go feed the hungry at the trash dump. Our general game plan was to feed the multitudes out of the back of three pickup trucks. We were encouraged to look for Jesus in the eyes of the people we would see here.. And Jesus we saw, Jesus we encountered.

We got to see Jesus in the eyes of these men, women and children. These ones that truly know poverty. We got to love on them, pray with them, laugh and even cry with them.
This woman here is a miracle. Danae one of our lovely team leaders was moved by the Lord to go sit on a trash pile and talk to this woman. Danae was sharing the Lord's heart over her, and asked if she could pray with this woman, and the woman agreed. As Danae prayed this woman passed out. Immediately one of the people from our team called me over to check on her. I jumped into EMT mode and begin checking her heart rate, breath sounds etc etc.. her heart rate: 30-32 beats per min, her breath sounds: 7-10 breaths per min.

The thought that ran through my mind at this point: "I have nothing. I have no AED, no oxygen, no IV kits..nothing"

Suddenly it hit me.. I have everything! I turned to looked back at my team who were already ready and waiting for what I was about to say next..  "Alright guys, let's go to work! Let's pray" With hearts engaged and hands raised we begin to pray and speak life into this woman.

My heart was racing, my palms were sweaty and I was praying "Lord do what you do. You love your children, you love them best, so breathe life into this woman right now"
One of our team leaders Marielle felt the Lord speak to her to tap her chest/heart, and out of obedience, she did..twice.. and on the second tap the woman opened her eyes and took a deep breath!!!

We witnessed a miracle this day! Not sure if you believe in these or not, but I assure you they're real. They happen. The Lord is faithful, and He gives life. We were able to witness the faithfulness of the Lord this day. We were able to see God move through a miracle here in a pile of trash..

May you too reflect on His faithfulness today. May you search for Him in the eyes of those around you. May you find Him in the trash piles physical and spiritual, and may your eyes be enlightened to see how good our God really is.
